When was the last time you brought out those tap shoes that are currently collecting dust in the cupboard? Did you grow up learning tap dancing as a child and have been wanting the excuse to revisit the good ol’ days? Well, look no further as you step back into tap dancing with a burlesque twist with Ember Rose!
This workshop is designed for people who have previously taken part in tap dancing lessons and are wanting a refresher for tap technique. Knowledge of basic steps (such as shuffles, hit springs, time steps, etc.) as well as understanding of foot placements for different sounds/steps are necessary (if this does not apply to you, please see Taplesque for Beginners). Participants will revisit tap steps and apply the fundamentals of burlesque in a choreographed routine.
Participants to bring: Tap shoes, gloves, jacket, corset (or similar), water bottle. Alternatively, sneakers are an option (but to gain the most out of these workshops tap shoes are highly recommended. Suggestions for second hand shoes include Facebook marketplace, local dance shops, dance studios, etc.)
Please note participants need to have previous experience with tap dancing to take part in this workshop. If this doesn’t apply to you, please look at Taplesque for Beginners!
* This is not a fire tap workshop
